On April 8, 2025, the International Symposium on Marine Dynamic Positioning (DP) Systems, co-hosted by the China Diving & Salvage Association (CDSA) and the International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA), and organized by Shanghai Huayang Maritime Technology Development Co., Ltd., was successfully held in Shanghai. Harbin Chuanghai Intelligent Equipment Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Harchuan Intelligent Equipment") participated deeply in this grand event and contributed to promoting the exchange of marine dynamic positioning technology and the development of the industry.

Marine dynamic positioning technology is a core high-tech field that ensures ships achieve precise positioning and stable operations under complex sea conditions. For a long time, high-end technologies, training, and certification in this field have been monopolized by foreign institutions, severely restricting the development of China’s marine engineering enterprises. In recent years, the fully independent and localized dynamic positioning system developed by Harchuan Intelligent Equipment has achieved major breakthroughs and won the Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award. Currently, this system is increasingly installed and applied on China’s marine engineering ships, effectively breaking foreign technological blockades.

At this symposium, Chairman Liu Jianxu of Harchuan Intelligent Equipment shared the topic "Technological Development and Application of HSI Domestic Dynamic Positioning Systems", introducing the company’s R&D journey in the field of marine dynamic positioning systems. From its early participation in the R&D of positioning functions for deep-submergence rescue vehicles to becoming the first domestic manufacturer to obtain the full-series CCS Type Approval Certificates for DP1/DP2/DP3 systems, the company has realized the fully localized supply of control system equipment, with a total of over 50 installations on various types of ships. This demonstrates the company’s years of technological accumulation and breakthroughs.

In terms of innovation, Chairman Liu Jianxu stated that the company is vigorously advancing the development of a new generation of dynamic positioning systems with the support of AI technology. By leveraging AI’s powerful computing capabilities and in-depth analysis capabilities, the company is empowering pre-research technologies such as intelligent marine environment perception, intelligent path tracking and guidance decision-making, green and energy-efficient dynamic positioning technology, and intelligent fault identification and auxiliary decision-making. Through integrated innovation, the company aims to significantly enhance the intelligence, automation, and green development level of the system, ensuring the precise and stable positioning as well as efficient operation of ships.

Meanwhile, under the guidance of the China Diving & Salvage Association (CDSA), Harchuan Intelligent Equipment, in collaboration with Shanghai Huayang Maritime, established China’s first self-accredited training center and launched the construction of a training and certification system for marine positioning systems. Up to now, this training center has trained over 150 operation and maintenance professionals for more than 40 institutions, including CNOOC (China National Offshore Oil Corporation), CCCC (China Communications Construction Company), PetroChina, and China Rescue & Salvage. This has broken the monopoly of foreign institutions in the training of marine dynamic positioning system operators and filled the gap in China’s domestic sector.
