DP2 is used for submarine rescue vessels,salvage ships,pipe-laying vessels,cable-laying vessel,wind turbineinstallation ships,crane vessels,semi-submersible vessels,research vessels,shuttle tankers and large offshore supportvessels.Ships equipped with a DP2 Dynamic Positioningsystem can maintain their position and heading in the event ofa single failure(excluding fire or flooding).
